Thank you to the island community. Together, we collected 43 jackets for our annual Rack-A-Jack event. ✨

It was a major success due largely in part to the help of @espressolove_edgartown and @cozycornercafemv . Your participation made this a special holiday treat!

We ended up collecting 43 jackets, 27 came and went off the rack, and the final 16 were donated to @mvclothestogo!

T’was the Night of Millinocket (Part 2)

Along the Golden Road, you’ll find music, oysters, fireball, cookies, cider, and maple syrup,
just to name a few,
When those hills get tough,
Breathe in the fresh air,
Smile,
And enjoy the view!

It’s not the race that they come for,
but the community,
The Love,
And there’s so much more.

As the runners come to the end
And the celebrations begin,
Some have smiles, laughter,
And pain they got through, thanks to the crowd and from within.

While the sun takes an early exit,
The town comes alive,
Achy legs, sore feet,
Are my toenails going to survive?!

Memories of the day are shared with laughter and drink,
It’s pretty amazing,
All these people have gathered for one think.

Bronson and the team took the mound,
But not at the park,
Or with the Sox,

But his championship team team of the night,
that helped us Come Together,
Rock out in the Free World,
and light on fire the Elks and Blue Ox.

St. Thomas and his apostles danced all night and entertained the guests,
When runners get asked,
“Why Run Millinocket?”
The simple answer:
Because it’s the best!

Lurching into the AT Café,
like zombies of the living Golden Road and happy a seat is near,
Sunday morning is filled with coffee, donuts, and conversations of plans for the next coming year!

In the U-Haul he goes,
Leaving behind this beautiful town that can fit in a pocket,
The winds of Katahdin whisper Gary saying,
“Don’t knock it, ‘till you Millinocket!”

T’was the Night of Millinocket (Part 1)

T’was the night before the big Millinocket race,
And there was Gary Allen, scurrying all over the place.

Tying this and climbing that,
To make sure everything was perfect
As the runners cross the mat.

Locals will tell you there’s magic in the air,
Fire in the mountain,
And ancient wisdom in the streams,
While Mother Katahdin stands at land’s end, watching over their dreams.

A small mountain town,
That few may see,
But grand with beauty so untouched, it’s hard to believe.

A wise man once said, “We’ll build the hive, You bring the honey”
With that wisk of inspiration,
The A-team of crows built the race!
But you know what is funny?

It’s You Millinocket, You are the honey!

You open your arms, your beds, and your hearts to those that come far and wide,
To celebrate the joy of life with neighbors, friends, and strangers Running side by side.

No matter if the runners come in costume,
Run Barefoot,
Or Arctic gear to bear the cold,
You come out and line the streets, everyone from town is there, young and old.
